Economic, Competition and European Agreement Law
Encompasses competition regulations both in France and in the European Union member states, contract law, and the preparation of contracts entered into by the Purchasing Department, as well as the management of legal problems in connection with Renault's sales and marketing businesses (distribution, dealer network, after-sales, etc.).
Company Law and Labor Law
This team follows the developments in corporate and labor regulations and tailors them to Renault. This section has been expanding rapidly since Renault's initial public offering.
Real Estate and Environmental Law
The Legal Department played a particularly active role in the Trapèze project (redevelopment of Renault's historic site in Boulogne-Billancourt near Paris) and the Technocentre, Renault's site in Guyancourt, in the far outskirts of Paris, where nearly 12,000 Renault employees now work.
Financial, Stock Market and Governance Law
Renault's IPO and Renault and Nissan's cross-shareholding operation brought about the development of this team, which closely monitors the application of the best corporate governance standards in our Management Board and Shareholder Assembly.
Intellectual Property, Trademark and Counterfeit Law
These specialists work to protect trademarks, designs and models, safeguarding Renault’s creativity in close collaboration with the Industrial Property Department.
Industrial Property and Patent Law
Thanks to the considerable drive of this department, over the last two years Renault has filed more patents than any other company in France.
International Business Law
The Legal Department makes a key contribution to Renault’s international development. The department is in continuous contact with its counterparts in Japan. Given the singular economic and legal model of the Renault-Nissan Alliance and the Renault Group’s organic growth in full-growth countries, the Legal Department has developed unique expertise in structured operations, corporate partnerships and joint ventures.
